The pitched roof was fully renovated and equipped with a 503 kWp photovoltaic system. Thanks to a self-consumption association (ZEV), tenants — including MediaMarkt and Ochsner Sport — can directly use the locally generated solar power. This significantly reduces external electricity demand and lowers CO₂ emissions by 23.2%, making the property a model for sustainable retail energy use.
The 306 kW heat pump works seamlessly with the photovoltaic and battery systems to provide efficient heating and cooling. By using renewable energy directly on-site, the system reduces dependency on fossil fuels and contributes to the 23.2% CO₂ savings compared to previous energy consumption.
A modern battery storage system complements the PV installation by storing surplus energy and making it available on demand. This setup increases energy autonomy, smooths load peaks, and optimizes self-consumption rates. For retailers, this means predictable, stable energy costs, while customers benefit from a shopping center that actively integrates sustainability into daily operations.
